Nook & Cranny Food Adventures

Whew...the last month has been simply c-r-a-z-y!
I went to my grandma's house a few weeks ago to celebrate my uncle's birthday! Everything was delicious (the cupcakes were certainly a treat in addition to the homemade ice cream...mmm) and it was wonderful to see BB (my grandma - courtesy of the oldest cuz) and hang out with some family that might not be able to make it to our annual family reunion later in the summer!
Kristen & I headed back toward ATL later in the day & found a strawberry patch to (duh!) pick our own HUMONGOUS bucket of strawberries! Buying strawberries in the grocery store just isn't as exciting...

Kristen, Jonathan and I took our food adventures further into the city & went to dinner at The Bookhouse Pub on West Ponce in Atlanta! Such a cute back porch and tiki bar that you would never know was there!!!! I enjoyed a very eclectic drink - a margarita made with JalapeƱo-infused tequila. It was STRONG! Jonathan was very proud of me for trying it but they did have to help me finish it. We stopped at Zesto's for a chocolate milkshake...the one milkshake worth a brainfreeze in Atlanta according to Holeman & Finch's owner, Greg Best.

On Mother's Day, we celebrated mom with some wood grilled salmon...thanks to Jonathan! There are no words to describe the tastiness...so here are some pictures :)

This past weekend, we took a day-cation to Little Five Points downtown! Who could go to Little Five Points and never eat at The Vortex? Obviously, that person would be me! We went there for my first ever visit..it was yummy, for sure! I had the Lone Star Tex Melt - a burger on Texas Toast with barbeque sauce & onion rings ...YUM!!! The rest of my party ended up getting a growler filled at a gas station...which was interesting!

TAILS UP!
All in all, the last few weeks have been a food success!

Have a great weekend!!!
